Plantar Fasciitis

What not to do in PLANTAR FASCIITIS?

June 04, 20252 min read

If you're one of the millions of people suffering from the stabbing heel pain of PLANTAR FASCIITIS🦶…

…you're probably desperate to find relief.

While there are many effective treatments, there are also some common mistakes that can make your condition worse.

Let's go over what NOT TO DO when suffering with PLANTAR FASCIITIS🦶.

#1. Skip The Stretching

One of the worst things you can do is neglect stretching the plantar fascia, Achilles tendon, and calf muscles.

Tight muscles and connective tissue put more strain on the plantar fascia, so daily stretching is crucial for recovery.

#2. Go Barefoot

Walking around without proper foot support can significantly aggravate PLANTAR FASCIITIS🦶.

Avoid going barefoot, even at home, and make sure you're wearing shoes 👟with good arch support and shock absorption.

#3. Overdo High-Impact Activities

Activities like running, jumping, and high-intensity workouts can inflame the plantar fascia.

While you don't need to stop all exercise, it's best to avoid high-impact activities until your symptoms improve.

#4. Ignore Your Footwear

Worn-out, unsupportive shoes 👟are a major contributor to PLANTAR FASCIITIS🦶.

Make sure you're wearing shoes 👟designed for your specific foot type and activity level.

Replace athletic shoes 👟every 300-500 miles.

#5. Take A "No Pain, No Gain" Approach

Pushing through the pain is not the answer.

If an activity causes sharp, shooting pains in your heel, stop immediately.

Trying to "power through" will only make the inflammation and damage worse.

THE GOOD NEWS is that with the right treatment approach - one that avoids these common mistakes - most people can successfully manage their PLANTAR FASCIITIS🦶 and get back to their normal activities.
