Chronic Knee Pain

How to relieve Chronic Knee Pain?

December 25, 20242 min read

CHRONIC KNEE PAIN can be caused by a variety of factors, from…

…injury

…arthritis

…OR overuse.

But no matter the underlying cause…

There are several steps you can take to find relief and get back to your normal activities:

#1. Rest And Ice 🧊

When your knees are particularly painful, give them a break from high-impact activities.

Applying ice packs for 15-20 minutes several times a day can also help reduce inflammation.

#2. Strengthen The Muscles

Building up the muscles around your knees, especially the quadriceps and hamstrings, helps stabilize and support the joint.

Focus on low-impact exercises like leg presses, squats, and leg extensions.

#3. Improve Flexibility

Stretching the muscles and tendons around the knee can improve mobility and reduce strain on the joint.

Pay special attention to the quadriceps, hamstrings, and calf muscles.

#4. Use Braces or Sleeves

Compression sleeves or knee braces can provide extra support and stabilization, taking pressure off the joint.

#5. Try Pain Relief Medications

Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications💊 like ibuprofen or naproxen can temporarily reduce pain and swelling.
